Born in Portugal, Francisco had his first contact with the horn at the age of 13 in the band of the music school of his hometown. This experience allowed him to develop many skills that he still considers an important part of his musical education.
In 2017, he graduated from the Conservatório de Música da Jobra with teacher Ana Duarte Abrantes and later completed his bachelor's degree with teachers Paulo Guerreiro and Luís Vieira at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. Discovering his dream of becoming an orchestral musician, he moved to Zurich to complete the Master Music Performance - Concert with professors Nigel Downing and Radovan Vlatkovic at the Zurich University of the Arts.
He then began the Master Specialized Music Performance - Orchestra, also at the same institution where he currently studies with Professors Nigel Downing and Glen Borling. In August 2022, he completed the summer internship with the Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn and, as a guest member, he has already had the opportunity to work regularly with some orchestras such as the Zurich Opera House (Philharmonia Zurich), the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Philharmonic, the City Light Symphony Orchestra, the Swiss Orchestra, the New Orchestra Basel, the Orquestra Gulbenkian, the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa and others.
Last but not least, he had the opportunity to work with famous horn teachers such as Stefan Dohr, Radovan Vlatkovic, Fergus McWilliams, Johannes Hinterholzer, Castern Duffin, Nuno Vaz and many others.
